Traveling from Western Michigan through Manistee National Forest, Traverse City State Forest, and Gaylord State Forest and crossing the majestic Mackinac Bridge, you might think the scenery couldn’t get any better. If you love nature as I do, this road trip should be on your bucket list. I was tempted to stop and camp several times on my way to Munising, Michigan, where I found a charming little campground. Although I only had two days to spend in the area, I could still take the ferry to Grand Island, go off-road biking, kayak around the Pictured Rocks, and enjoy the crystal-clear waters of Lake Superior. As I’ve traveled around the country, I’ve been amazed by the many beautiful places we are fortunate to have in our nation. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is a true “national treasure” and undoubtedly ranks among my top ten places to revisit, noting that two days there is just a taste of what it offers. The video shows some shots of Lake Superior and the Mackinac Bridge as I headed south.
